A substance produced in the body when you eat broccoli and brussels sprouts may curb the proliferation of cancer cells and could be an effective supplement for treating some cancers and other diseases, according to a study.
The study, developed teams Ohio State University and the Research Institute Richard J. U.S. Solove, was published in the journal Cancer Prevention Reaserch.
The researchers found that the substance (indole-3-carbinol “or I3C) is related to a molecule (Cdc25A), which is essential for proliferation and cell division.

In particular, the I3C can destroy the Cdc25A, which is also a molecule that is present in high levels in breast, prostate, liver, esophagus, endometrium, and colon, and other diseases such as Alzheimer’s. (more…)
