Cancer is a disease caused by man?

Monday, November 8th, 2010

Yes, it seems, the cancer would be a creation-unconscious and involuntary of course – but finally creation of modern man. According to several researchers, the analysis of thousands of mummies of Ancient Egypt and South America showed that only a few had died of cancer. However, today is one of the most dangerous diseases, it is the cause of three deaths.

For scientists, the cancer is not a natural disease but a consequence of pollution and lifestyle that we lead today. Is strong evidence that cancer deaths have increased since the advent of the Industrial Revolution, especially in children. In this industrializes societies, cancer is the second leading cause of death after cardiovascular diseases, whereas in the past it was very strange. (more…)

Goodbye to cancer of the hand of the milk?

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

A recent research has revealed very positive news on the prevention of breast cancer and colon cancer. The news is very interesting because it points to the consumption of dairy products to eliminate the development of these problems, an issue linked to healthy eating and food properties, one we too often in this site.

With regard to colon cancer, the yogurt is shown as a potential solution to prevent it. Experimenting with mice, scientific Argentina Gabriela Perdigon were given for a time equivalent to an intake of yogurt daily for a human being.

The results were very positive, as the mice with a tumor cancer in his intestines Igen, managed to make it disappear, and those where he was undergoing training, were able to inhibit it. But that’s not all. Once the tumor disappeared, never grew again. (more…)

Coffee prevents brain cancer

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

When we speak of tea to prevent cancer usually referred to tea varieties (especially in relation to green tea ). This is due to the antioxidant potential of tea, which protects our cells thereby reducing the risk of cancer in many varieties.

But the world of tea does not begin and end in the area. Coffee, as popular as tea (or more in some countries) also have things to say about cancer prevention. We do not say only from this site , as it has been commissioned in the Imperial College of London .

We refer to a research published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention , in which a team of British researchers worked with a group of volunteers with glioma . The glioma is like the preamble to the development of brain cancer, which if not treated early and properly can lead to the onset of the disease in the patient. (more…)

Research the use of Nitroglycerin for Cancer

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

“The Treatment of prostate cancer with a very low dose of nitroglycerin can slow or even stop the progression of the disease without serious side effects of current treatments. At least that is confirmed by researchers from Queen’s University responsible for this new research, which I personally left me impressed.

The findings are the result of the first clinical trial using nitroglycerin to treat prostate cancer. The 24-month Phase II study has been directed to 29 men with high levels of prostate specific antigen (PSA, a key indicator of the progression of cancer) after prostate surgery or radiation. “We are very excited to see a significant slowdown in disease progression as evidenced by PSA levels, and to see this outcome in many of the men who participated in the study,” says Robert Siemens, the study leader Professor of Urology at Queen’s University at Kingston General Hospital urologist.

Researchers are encouraged by the results, especially because at present the safe and effective treatments for men with rising PSA levels after surgery or radiation are limited. They note further that the additional evidence is needed to confirm the results of this study are very small.

Of the 17 patients who completed the study, all but one showed a stabilization or decrease in the rate of cancer progression, as measured by PSA doubling time. Nitroglycerin has already been used significantly higher doses for over a century in the treatment of angina pectoris, has proven without a doubt his power to reduce nitric oxide, which plays an important role in the progression of a tumor.
